Arrangements are in full motion as the annual rodeo competition gets underway. The history of the sport dates back to the 1920s when rapid expansion pulled out horsemen from their hoods to the nearest track. The glorious American tradition continues to take place while undergoing revolutionization over the years. Shortly after the association was established, its events—including bulldogging, bareback riding, and bronc riding—began to last longer. Now riders from all over the country compete at New York’s Route 60 ground every year for the chance to win millions of dollars.

The 78th PRCA Rodeo’s inaugural performance is scheduled for Wednesday, and preparations are already nearing the last phase. A gathering of more than 200 professional cowboys and cowgirls from all across the country at the Gerry Rodeo site. Their catch? The $50,000 prize money and evenings full of passion filled exhilarating drills. The three-day event has already called the horses near the venue which required some setting up of the chutes. Over 3,000 meals will be prepared by grilling 1,000 pounds of beef over a wood fire in the traditional manner before 5 a.m. on the first day. While every evening from 5-8 fans look forward to the “once a year must” experience of eating BBQ sitting in an air-conditioned dining hall. In addition, the 20 merchants that are serving food contribute to the event’s ruse as an adult’s fair.
The competition is much more than just a sporting event; throughout the years, it evolved into an arena for social awareness. Saturday has been declared as the ‘Stompin’ Out Breast Cancer’ night where fans are encouraged to wear pink. Roswell Park even keeps donations for breast cancer research. Whereas on Thursday night military personnel and first responders can enter for $10 with IDs.
