According to Blood-Horse, the filly is the daughter of Grade 1 CashCall Futurity winner Into Mischief and Grade 3 2015 Monmouth Oaks winner Delightful Joy. The filly was bred by International Equities Holding, Kentucky, and was sold by agent Gainesway. The filly was consigned as Hip 92 arrived at the ring and was sold for $2.3 million. The purchaser was Shadwell Racing owned by Sheikha Hissa, the daughter of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This was the equestrian enthusiast’s first shopping on her own at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale after the demise of her father in 2021.
Prior to 2021, Shadwell Racing was the leading buyer in the market. Speaking about her experience, Johnny Smith from Shadwell said, “Sheikha Hissa is very happy to be here and excited to participate in the sale, there will be more fireworks tomorrow“. The agent thought the filly would be fetched for around $1.5 million. The consignor said that the filly is out of grade 3 winner Tapit whose sired horse is a grade 2 winner and still performing. For them, the auction was a pleasant surprise. Shadwell Racing also purchased a filly bred by Don Alberto Corporation and daughter of Uncle Mo for $750,000. This year saw a good start at the Keeneland with many high-price deals to be seen in the coming days.
