Equestrian fame Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, one of the most popular dressage names of her generation, has bagged accolades for her skills and kindness alike. 6th in the team competition and 13th in the individual at the 2016 Rio Olympics didn’t dim her spirit. She went on with her endeavors to take her sport to great heights. Very few dressage artists think selflessly for the common crowd, and Dufour is one of them.
Besides making waves in the dressage arena herself, she introduced Catherine Dressage to upskill the youngsters and educate the horses. Catherine Stream, her online platform, sees her upload training videos religiously. But the ones accompanying her are none other than her equines. The 8-year-old Swedish warmblood has her heart especially.

Boasting 306k followers on Instagram, Dufour offers a sneak peek to her followers oftentimes. One of the most loved equines gracing the barn is Vividus, the 8-year-old, who has been a constant in the 32-year-old’s life since it first stepped hooves. Her recent Instagram story reads, “I’m so proud of Vividus and the way we’ve found the changes. So much smaller aid and more balanced feeling than ever!!” She tagged Kyra Kyrklund, hinting at an upcoming co-feature with Vividus. Popular for her special Masterclass sessions, the Danish rider hosted her first class outside of Australia in Devon on September 2023. This deed of hers has garnered love and respect from global fans, especially the young riders.
But when she and her team decided to expand, they surfaced with several offerings. Out of them, collaboration with the top-tier trainers to take the Masterclass to the next level earned more attention. Kyra Kyrklund, an Olympian herself, has been working with Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour as her trainer. Her appearance in the Masterclass made Dufour craft a heartfelt note.

A partnership that went beyond trainer-trainee
Since Dufour faced an issue with her horse Cassidy, Kyrklund has been an integral part of her life. Their bond of mutual respect showed colors when Dufour penned, “Our fantastic Walber Equestrian is prepped with Polaris. DK for all the amazing horses and riders that are having lessons with master Kyra Kyrklund today”. After a successful Masterclass that day, the 32-year-old found the strength to extend her knowledge more.

Many people appeared at the event hosted by the Olympian on September. Through her teachings, she brought horsemanship, expertise, wisdom, and empathy to light. As an icing on the cake, Eurodressage had accoladed her for the gesture, calling it “Magic of inspiration”. With more masterclasses in 2024, she is bringing Kyra Kyrklund in one of them in September again.
