Equestrian centers are a place where horses are kept, taken care and groomed. Some of them also have clinics and teach riding to kids or people who wish to learn it. Those equestrian centers that are open to their local community have deep and cordial relations with them and are an integral part of the social fabric.
It is witnessed that whenever a calamity strikes such centers, the local community rushes to help the owners of the center in any way they can. Research conducted by non-American equestrian organizations reiterated and proved this notion. The focus of the research was to find out the impact of the equestrian centers present in urban areas.

According to Horse Talk, the researchers in Britain claimed that they have found a positive impact of equestrian centers operating in the urban setting on the local community. This study was an initiative of British Equestrian, the governing body of horse sport in Britain. The purpose of the study was to identify four things. First, what are the features of a successful urban equestrian center? Second, the present prevalent business model of the centers. Third, the impact of such centers on the local community, and the last, challenges being faced by such centers.
There were eighty centers identified as urban equestrian centers of which thirteen were selected for the study based on various parameters relevant to the study. These centers were surveyed and had follow-up visits from May 2022 to December 2022. In the study, the equestrian researchers found the impact of urban equestrian centers was overwhelmingly positive. The positivity came from the promotion of a sense of community, providing physical, and mental wellbeing, and a safe place to socialize in these centers. These centers also play an important role in providing social education benefits through teaching riding and social; skills that help vulnerable children and crime prevention. These centers work to give a chance to all members of the community to get associated with it.
