Mooresville, on the outskirts of Charlotte, is popularly called “Race City U.S.A.,” because of the numerous racing teams and drivers that call it home. There is also the famous NASCAR Technical Institute nearby. In the midst of all this car racing culture, there is a multi-million-dollar equestrian facility like no other. Just like the property, it holds its own in terms of prestige.
The owner is none other than NASCAR legend Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who bought it from NASCAR champion Joe Nemechek at a heavy discount. Now, the $30 million-worth Stenhouse wants to add to his impressive bank balance by selling the 9,115-square-foot home and surrounding 141 acres of equestrian estate for almost double what he paid. However, he is now facing an unexpected challenge in the real estate market. Will he be able to earn a buck or endure a heavy loss? Let’s find out!

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. stunned everyone by pricing the estate at $15.995 million in 2022. It was the highest price of any property in the area. However, to Stenhouse’s credit, no other property in Mooresville can match his estate in terms of luxury and modern amenities.
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the home has five bedrooms and 9 bathrooms in total. It also has a game room, a theater, a cabana, a pool house, and a vanishing-edge upper pool. The home is surrounded by lush green turf that leads to the grounds. There are fenced grazing areas, 18 stalls encompassing 5,500 square feet, and a vast covered arena to enjoy equestrian sports. Despite all of these attractions, buyers have been reluctant to invest in the property due to the massive price tag.
Finally, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. lowered the price to $12.995 million, which is still the highest price for a property in the area. In an attempt to make the offer sound more inviting, the NASCAR legend has specified that construction of additional assets on the remaining land remains an option. The JTG Daugherty Racing driver and his wife are keen to sell this property to help them in their other equestrian venture.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. gets into barrel racing
The 2023 Daytona 500 winner and wife, Madyson Joye, owns five miniature donkeys and nine miniature longhorns. They are now investing in a new venture in barrel racing to overtake the equestrian world completely. But Stenhouse has not forgotten his NASCAR roots and paid tribute to the sport in a unique manner. According to the Rowan County property records, a company called Slide Job owns the home and the estate. The celebrated race car driver is also the owner of this company, which he named to pay respect to his dirt-racing legacy.
