Frankie Dettori encountered a setback during his final season. Following the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot, he was slapped with a nine-day ban due to careless riding. Unfortunately, this meant the equestrian had to forego the Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown. This resulted in promising Emily Upjohn holding the favor of the odds.

The suspension spanned from July 4th to July 12th, coinciding with the Sandown classic. It concludes prior to the exhilarating three-day Newmarket festival. It’s worth noting that this wasn’t the jockey’s first encounter with a suspension, having faced a similar ordeal during the 2019 Melbourne Cup. However, the 2001 Honorary MBE ultimately secured a triumph with his first winner of the week at the prestigious showpiece meeting.
