Executive Director for Beyond Limits, Kimberly Oviedo, overwhelmed by the incident, shared her thoughts with Atlanta News First. “It’s very heartbreaking. What used to be our barn held eight years of memories… There’s nothing. There’s nothing left.”, she said woefully. Remarkably, all ten horses survived unharmed, and no injuries were reported. Oviedo’s non-profit organization offered transformative therapeutic horseback riding programs, supporting individuals with conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, and post-traumatic stress disorder. “We work with any syndrome diagnosis that they have,” Oviedo emphasized. Despite the immense setback, the resilient equestrian community remains united, determined to rebuild and restore the cherished haven. Within the center’s walls, children have discovered a haven to freely express themselves, shielded from judgment. Valiente, Faith, Snickers, Classy, Luna, Ty, and Smarty Pants have become cherished companions along this remarkable journey of healing.
Community support needed to rebuild the equestrian therapy center
In a heartwarming display of community support, Fox 5 reported that donations poured in, enabling the horses to receive new saddles and essential supplies. Just ten days later, the children were once again able to ride. A grateful parent expressed, “Because of the community and how gracious and wonderful everybody has been, we’ve really been able to get this program going again.” Currently housed in a temporary structure, their aim is to construct a new barn.

The amount of damage that occurred cannot be covered by the insurance company. So, donations for the barn and an ATV are urgently needed. Donations are still being accepted on the Beyond Limits website, extending an opportunity for others to contribute to this remarkable cause.
