The equestrian world is always at a loss for words every time the news of equine death is announced. It wraps the community in absolute sadness and sorrow. The passing away of these innocent creatures is one of the most hurtful things to witness. However, at certain times, there is tragic news of horses dying which can be very painful. In a somber tale like this, a horse named Spirit passed away during the August holidays.

This news has left the horse-racing world in shock as the passing away of such a talented horse is really an extreme loss. He played rugby for seven years and made an irreplaceable place in everybody’s hearts. The Peterhouse Group of Schools, Zimbabwe where he belonged shared a heartwarming post to pay tribute to the champion.

Equestrian world left saddened after the passing away of a brilliant equine

Equines have a special place in the hearts of everyone and the pain of them bidding goodbye all of a sudden can never go away. Spirit ‘The Rugby Horse’ was the sunshine of the Peterhouse Equestrian Centre. He has played a major role in everybody’s life associated with the center or anybody he has met. From children to adults, he has been with everyone and has made everyone happy.

The equestrian center shared a heartwarming post after the passing away of the horse. They posted some beautiful pictures of Spirit that could make anyone emotional and understand how beautiful of an equine he was. He has taken children to Zimbabwe-level dressage and jumped for international riders. With this, he has also made his way across Zimbabwe, completing the Blue Cross four times.

This champion was also featured in the ‘Amazing Race’ TV show and has done countless charity pony rides. The caption to the post carried, “Spirit, you did rugby for seven years and each year I dreamt of the day when it could finally be my turn. You were so much more than a rugby horse- you were my champion.” They further added, “You will be sorely missed, now and always my dear friend. Now run free for me, wherever you may be.” This emotional post left all the horse lovers teary-eyed, and they left their condolences for the owner under the post.

The internet mourns the loss of a ‘Rugby Horse’

After the emotional post left by the owners of the horse on social media, the enthusiasts left multiple consoling comments for the owners. Paying tribute to the horse, one of them commented, “So Sad. Rest in peace Spirit, Fly high big guy.” Another admirer of the horse commented, “A very special boy! Loved by so many.”

Nothing can match the grief of losing a loved one and the entire world knows it. Relating to the pain, an individual on the internet commented, “So sad. What a special horse he was.” Following this, another comment read, “Very sad news”.

Joining the loss of the owners, one of them expressed, “So very sorry to everyone who knew and loved this very special horse. What a wonderful life he had with you all!” This gut-wrenching pain will never go away, but there are only warm wishes and condolences for the beautiful horse and his owners as Spirit left an undying mark in the lives of all.
