The 2023 Pan American Games are currently up and running. In this event that will run from 20th October to 5th November in Santiago, Chile, many athletes look forward to punching their tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Following this news, a 31-year-old athlete has secured her spot for the Big Game in a special event while representing the United States.

Since the 2000 Olympics, Jess Davis has become the first woman to qualify for the Olympics in the special event, which requires many staunch skills. Amid this qualification, the pentathlete also achieved a staunch achievement in the equestrian community.

Jess Davis became the first Pentathlete to qualify for the Olympics 2024. The athlete, who has a penchant for many sports, joined the sports community through modern pentathlon, which includes riding, fencing, swimming, running, and laser shooting. And on 23rd October, in the 90-minute pentathlon event of the Pan American Games deciding the roster for the Paris Olympics, the 31-year-old secured her ticket by securing 1370 points and finishing the event fourth. Interestingly, at the following year’s Big Games, Davis will most likely be able to showcase her staunch equestrian skills at the Olympics for the last time.

From the Olympic Games 2028, to be held in LA, modern pentathlon has been inducted into the games. The Paris Olympics will be the last event for pentathletes to showcase their equestrian skills. In modern pentathlon, the equestrian sport will be replaced with obstacles. However, despite this change, Davis is geared up to strike her magic in the field one last time.

Following this triumph, Davis also received an elite status in the equestrian world. According to the Chronicle of the Horse, “Six countries have qualified teams to participate in every equestrian sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics,” and amid Davis’ win, the U.S.A. has secured an athlete in every discipline except jumping.

Jess Davis is delighted and confident

For obvious reasons, Davis is delighted at the win, especially after the debacle in the last Pan American Games. She emphatically revealed to the media, “This was just the absolute icing on the cake. The last Pan American games for me went very poorly, with the disqualification on the ride. So today, it felt good.”

The Jess Davis enthusiasts are also eager for the athlete to be the first pentathlete to stand atop the podium since 2000 while representing the United States. Amis all these, Davis looks pretty sorted as she says, “I do trust my training, my coaches, and my body. I am feeling confident, happy, and excited about it.”
