The Goffs Million is the prestigious horse race in Ireland and the richest Juvenile race in the European continent. The race was just concluded with an emphatic show of skill and speed by the surprise winner. It could not get better than this for the trainer Paddy Twomey after his trained horse Deepone won the Group 2 Beresford Stakes earlier.

The race had participants from all over the place to claim their title with the win. The race was tough with close contention in most parts of the race until in the final stage, Twomey’s trained filly stood out among the rest and showed her furious pace to claim the title. Connolly Racing Syndicate owned One Look was all set for the Goffs Million. At the Curragh, the filly was under the command of Billy Lee, who had earlier success with Deepone. Prior to the race, she was the second favorite with 5-1 odds and the first was Cherry Blossom. At the start of the race, the contest was close and Billy Lee held the filly in the midst. When a furlong of distance was left, the favorite Cherry Blossom ridden by the legend Frankie Dettori took the lead and it appeared that they might take it to the wire, but the surprise was left.

Billy Lee when realized what the situation was calling, he created smooth ground in the midfield to take the lead. The filly responded to his call and picked up the pace and stretch to win the race by six lengths. Cherry Blossom came in the second position and My Mate Alfie claimed the third spot. This was a big win for the filly in her debut race. The trainer Twomey had his second juvenile win after his trained horse Juxtaposition won a mile race at Leopardstown. The trainer was happy with the win and the filly’s performance had exceeded his expectation.

Equestrian trainer shares his excitement

Paddy Twomey was the happiest man in the world after the Goffs Million. His trained filly One Look won it with style. Speaking on the filly, Twomey said, “She’s a nice filly and she’s been a nice filly all year. I thought I would have run her earlier but it’s just the way it worked out and she was just ready to run this week“. He said that the plan was to track the legendary jockey Frankie Dettori aboard Cherry Blossom and watch his moves. The filly was ready for the task as he had run her at Guineas earlier in the week. He doesn’t intend to race the filly in any other race, saying it was a big win for her.
