The racing season for the equestrian community is nearing an end. However, the Betfred St Leger Festival won’t let the season exit without a bang. Hosting its annual 3-day festival from 15th to 17th, over the weekend, Betfred St Leger hosted as they call it, one of the racing community’s prestigious stakes. And joining in for some entertainment was Juddmonte’s very own 3-year-old equine.
Following his unsuccessful runs at the Epsom Downs and Ascot earlier this year, the Frankel Colt raced for redemption on Saturday. Trailing the equine’s result and participation at the stakes, Juddmonte had a piece of news for the public. However, the mentioned equine wasn’t the only one the fans were getting an update about.

On its second day of the festive, St. Ledger houses the Doncaster Cup. The race hosts Group 2 horses, three years and older over the course of 2 miles, 1 furlong, and 197 yards. Competing at the race amongst 8 other equines was Arrest, a 3-year-old Bay Colt. Racing to the finish line, Arrest fell short by 2¾ lengths to the ever-so-good 3-year-old colt, continuous.
However, riding atop Arrest, famed jockey, Frankie Dettori was hoping for one final classic success at the Doncaster. “I was delighted and thought he ran a great race. I was more disappointed for Frankie than anything because it would have been lovely for him to have a fairytale ending in the last Classic of the year, but it wasn’t to be.” Barry Mahon, racing manager for owners Juddmonte, said according to Skysports. Moving further Mahon added that Frankie was complimentary after the race. The jockey also believes Arrest will be a good horse in the coming year.
Completing the contest, Mahon said that the company would be putting away the equine valued at $414,295 for the time being. He said the the equine will need a little bit more strengthening before making a comeback in the spring of next year. While Arrest will be taking some time off, Juddmonte’s other equine is seeing a steady path.

Juddmonte Aims For a Win at Prestigious Stakes
Having completed its training at Salisbury, the Bay Colt is preparing to compete at a renowned race early next month. The Ralph Beckett-trained Westover raced his last one at Ascot in July placing 2nd. Now with the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Westover will be aiming to bag a big one for his profile.
“His form is very good – he’s been competing with the best of them – and just looking at the long-range forecasts the weather looks pretty settled in Paris, so hopefully we might get nice ground, which would be great,” Mahon said talking about Westover.
