Bill Gates’ daughter supports her mother, Melinda French Gates’ philanthropic work. She also advocated her mother’s stance on the representation of women in the decision-making arena. Jennifer shared an Instagram story from her official page recently. In the story, her mother talks about the issues of mothers and babies during pregnancy and the development the foundation made.
Dr. Rasa Izadnegahdar, the Director of the Maternal, Newborn, Child Health Discovery & Tools portfolio at the Gates Foundation, starts by saying he felt excited about helping moms and babies every day. He then asked Melinda about her excitement that made her work for the cause. In response, she said the importance of moms and babies cannot be overstated. She added that the data showed they had made quite a progress in this field.
The talk was about simple but innovative tools to save the lives of women and babies. During the talk, Dr. Rasa Izadnegahdar showed AI-enabled ultrasound, which helps in the detection of cases of high-risk pregnancy. And also medicines that help in preventing infection, and increase anemia levels in women.

Melinda French Gates was happy that these techs and medicines were designed to help low-income countries, thus have a far reach to women around the world. The equestrian’s mother recently talked about the issue of death during childbirth and the need to address it at all levels around the world.

Melinda French Gates was recently quoted in the media saying that she takes the demise of hundreds of thousands of women and children during childbirth personally. French Gates, who became a grandmother this year, thinks that more people should get involved in this issue. This can improve the maternity healthcare system, she feels. Speaking to CBS Morning women dying from childbirth is needless, and it is an ancient problem. With the advancement of technologies and the availability of low-cost medical devices and effective medicines, survival rates can be increased. Her foundation is working to achieve that goal.
