Bruce Springteens’ equestrian daughter is participating in the vital tournament, the Jumping Nations Cup Finals 2023 in Barcelona. She is part of the five-member squad selected by the US Equestrian for the prestigious tournament. Jessica had earlier taken part in the Nations Cup event in Mexico this year which the team USA won in a neck-to-neck contest with the Mexicans.

Since she took up equestrian as a profession, the music star’s daughter has gradually improved her game and raised her standards of performance. Winning silver in the Olympics was an achievement in her career that motivated her to continue and put in double the effort. With the Paris Olympics in line, the team US had to give everything in this tournament. Recently, the show jumper shared a story of her taking part in the event on her social media account.

Equestrian Jessica Springsteen begins her journey in Barcelona

The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final 2023 began in Barcelona. The first round of the event took place yesterday with all the fifteen teams taking part in the round. The top eight teams for this round would book their place for the finals which shall take place on Sunday. Jessica Springsteen took part in the round with her teammates. She posted a story on Instagram, where she was witnessed running on the field with her horse Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, and jumping the barriers.

In the story it was mentioned “For the American team” then her name and her stallion’s name. She also tagged Be Proud, FEI Jumping, and FEI Nations Cup. Jessica was the third member of the team to enter the field. She started with her Warmblood stallion owned by Stone Hill Farm and ran through the entire track.

In her attempt, she dropped a bar at the double vertical combination towards the end of her course and finished with four faults in 80.17 seconds. After her round, the team US still had a close race with several other teams for a berth in the final round. Ultimately, with the completion of the final round of the day, the team US was placed sixth, and with that, they qualified for the finals of the tournament.

USA jumping team books berth in the finals of Nations Cup Final

The US jumping team consisted of five members – Karl Cook, Laura Kraut, Devin Ryan, McLain Ward, and Jessica Springsteen. The team started the first round with McLain Ward abroad Callas having a clear course and finished it in 79.29 seconds. Then, Karl Cook came aboard Kalinka van’t Zorgvliet and completed with four faults in 79.79 seconds. After Cook, Jessica entered the field and finished her round with four faults in 80.17 seconds.

Last, the veteran Laura Kraut abroad Dorado 212 completed her round with also dropped a bar in the last line to push the team in waiting for the other team to finish their last round. In the end, the team placed sixth behind Great Britain, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. Thus qualified for finals keeping their hope for the Paris Olympics qualification.

The first-round performance would definitely give the US team a morale boost for the finals. Jessica’s performance and her story on social media suggest that the showjumper is motivated for the final round to cruise their way into the Olympics.
