Bruce Springsteen’s equestrian daughter Jessica Springsteen is currently on national duty in Barcelona. The showjumper is part of the US jumping team that is participating in the FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final. After the first-round qualification, now the team is preparing for the Final round on Sunday.

This event is special because it holds a single birth reservation for the next year’s Paris Olympics. Jessica who is an Olympic silver medalist wants to re-enjoy the Olympic dream in an even better way. For it, she had to first help her team grab the Olympic berth with a perfect display of the game. She recently took to social media to share background glimpses of her time spent at the event.

This year at the 2023 FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final fifteen teams participated. After the first round, eight teams qualified for the final round. The team US booked their place in the finals securing a sixth position in the first round. Jessica took part in the first-round game. The final is on Sunday and with much-needed time to relax and ponder the strategies, Jessica took the time to share with her fans the behind-the-scenes happening during these days. In an Instagram story, she shared a series of carousals and a clip of her companion Don Juan van de Donhoeve.

In the clip, a woman is seen taking pictures of her horse standing in the stable. Don Juan has been Jessica’s long companion and is the one with whom she won the Olympic medal in Tokyo 2020. In the other carousels are her pictures of performing in the first round of the event where she completed her ride with four faults in 80.17 seconds.

Her other teammate McLain Ward had a perfect ride while Karl Cook and Laura Kraut had four faults each in their ride. The US team qualified for the finals with eight faults and 239.25 secs. Now, with fewer teams in the next round and only two teams in direct competition for the Olympic birth – the US and Brazil, the team US is all prepared for the finals.

The US jumping team’s final aim

The five-member US jumping team is aiming to better their performance from the last one. They are entering the finals with a mentality of winning it. Keeping in mind the Sunday opposition, they have changed their strategy but are positive about their chances.

The main contest will be with Brazil who qualified for the finals securing second place behind Great Britain. They qualified with four faults and 237.48 secs. They also aim to overcome a traditional strong equestrian team and are planning to avoid first-round mistakes.
