The Paris 2024 is currently the sole destination for sportsmen and women across the world. The qualifications for the grandest of events have seen a marking since the past year and the equestrian eventing has stood no back. The FEI has been placing its events through the years to get the best of its athletes; initially to the top and ultimately out to the awaiting Olympics.
The FEI Olympics will host a total of 16 teams (48 athletes) among which 17 individuals will stand to attain the individual status. While the contending nations across the world have been racing in the FEI since the beginning of the year, Britain’s rising star has stepped ahead not once but twice to secure a spot in the Paris 2024 spot.
British equestrian goes for a win in the Netherlands

The 26-year-old British equestrian, Yasmin Ingham has made news amongst the eventing community twice concerning the Olympics. Though her greatest feat dates back to September 2022, her recent performance over the weekend puts her back on the map.
The FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series 2023 started back in March 2023 at Montelibretti, Italy. The season successfully picked up its champions across 8 months to finally end with its top stars on October 8th at Boekelo, Netherlands. Over the weekend, 112 combinations and 12 teams competed in the final leg of the season to secure a top spot leading to the Olympics. Recurringly appearing on top, Great Britain (GB) bagged a silver.

The GB team comprised Rosalind Canter, Laura Collett, Caroline Harris, and Yasmin Ingham. The 26-year-old equestrian, Yasmin riding atop Rehy DJ, contributed a total of 53.00 to the team’s 111.20 which placed them second. Britain by topped by France with 97.8 and followed by Belgium at 129.0. Whilst the US team placed 4th two points short with 131.0.
Though Britain secured a second place, the team only performed to up their performance as the berth previously made it to Olypmics, with a little achievement from Yasmin and a team effort from the best of the roster back in 2022.

Yasmin earns a big one for the team at the World Championships
In September 2022, Yasmin Ingham participated at the FEI Eventing World Championships. The then 25-year-old was was taking part in her first senior championship. Yasmin, rode atop Banzai du Loir securing a third in dressage with 22.0 and jumped to second after cross-country and finally to the top after Show Jumping Finale. Her performance finally accumulated her a total of 23.2 that afternoon which boosted her to win the championships. “I dropped to the floor when it happened – all my emotions came flooding out,” she said according to Teamgb.com.
As for the team event, Canter, Laura Collett, Tom McEwen and Oliver Townend finished 4th with a score of 100.9. The position and score sent the team to 2024 Paris. The team has now qualified for the event with a stellar participation in all four disciplines; jumping, dressage, eventing and para-dressage.

Yasmin who found her interest in the sport in 2010, now stands 15th in the world ranking as she heads to the Olympics. The team entering will look to defend their title as Collett, McEwen and Townend returned successful from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
