One of the best centers of all time narrated how he couldn’t center himself on horseback on his maiden equestrian adventure. In fact, things took a wrong turn and Shaq came face-to-face with a near-death encounter. Shaq revealed his unpleasant equestrian encounter at ‘The Really Good Podcast’ by Bobbi Althoff. A social media post uploaded a clipping of the podcast that caught Shaq mentioning the incident. Althoff asked Shaq if he had ever ridden a horse, to which Shaq replied, “Yeah. he tried to kill me.”

The host questioned Shaq further and he narrated the entire incident. According to O’Neal, “It was a 22-hand Percheron. It’s a really big horse, but what I didn’t know is that he was a carriage horse. And then when I tried to get on him he tried to Bronco Billy me.” However, Shaq said that he didn’t know that the vengeful horse was a carriage horse. The horse’s original owner who sold him to Shaq never revealed this minute detail that made all the difference. This made O’Neal learn a lesson that taught him the difference between an equestrian racehorse and a carriage horse. The large build of the 51-year-old also came into play which made the carriage horse very vengeful. Althoff asked Shaq about things other than the equestrian adventure that he can’t do because of his height.
