Horse racing is a passionate sport for many. Though not included in the Olympics, horse trail rides see huge crowds who not only enjoy the race, but also participate in the festivities that precede the final competition. The Kentucky Derby stands as the best example of how horse racing is a much-anticipated event in the country.
The Alabama Horse Council is all set to host its Annual Trail Ride which will offer tons of entertainment to the local community. The event will be organized from April 21-23 at Faye Whittemore Farms. As the riders are geared up to participate in the event, the local community is all set to experience some great fun this spring.
A plethora of activities are planned for the event

The annual trail ride will include 35 miles of ride with challenging trails ranging from easy to moderate such as rushing waterfalls, shaded forests, creek crossings, and outcroppings of bluffs for the participating riders. The event is open for all horse breeds and disciplines. A report of a negative Coggins test is mandatory.
The first 25 riders will be offered breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday morning apart from the taco bar on Saturday night. The three day-event is lined up with engaging activities such as painting with the horse, horsemanship clinics organized by Elevate Horsemanship’s Jamie Gilt and Taylor Mclntosh, equine massages offered by Elevated Equine Services, Tricia Harbin Pierce’s trail obstacle practice, and the Alabama Obstacle Challenge series.

The event also offers an auction program that includes sponsors such as Pepsi Rock the South tickets. The event is sponsored by Triple Crown, Pumpkin Patch Trail Ride, Cahaba Tractor Co., Tucker Milling, Spurr’s Big Fix, Seminole Feed, Equinavia, etc.,
Alabama Horse Council’s Fee for Participation in the Annual trail ride
Alabama Horse Council has fixed the rider fee at a $20 donation for the day and a $40 donation for the weekend, i.e, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The weekend ride covers dinner and entertainment from Junior Uptain Band on Saturday, and Cowboy Church on Sunday. Children of age 6 and under can ride for free.

Alabama Horse Council invites the public to the live music show at a $ 5 donation per person. The agency has provided the contact details of Nick Whittemore for reserving campsites and stalls. The other trail rides the company hosts include Shel-Clair Farms in Vincent, Camp McClellan, Hodges Equestrian Park, Pumpkin Patch Trail Ride, etc. With several activities lined up, the trail is bound to be a joy for all equestrian sports lovers.
