Recording a time of 1:23.22, Mr Brightside manned by Craig Williams, took over the Karakontie, Princess Grace beside 14 other equines on the field to claim the title. While this is Mr Brightside’s fourth straight slide at a victory, and third at Group 1, it was a second straight loss for Princess Grace. However, with her current position, the 6-year-old mare, with current earnings of $2,421,625, has secured her pace at the Group 1 race, Melbourne Cup.
