Bruce Springsteen’s equestrian daughter Jessica Springsteen has always been a benign woman who thinks beyond herself. Besides catering to her showjumping needs, she’s on her way to enlightening the young equestrians with her stellar maneuvers. In the same vein, a recent event witnessed the 31-year-old Olympian be the guiding star.
Partnering with Compton Cowboys, The Michael Nyuis Foundation, The Compton Junior Equestrians, Santa Anita Park, 1/ST Racing, and Shelburne Farms Hidden Valley, Springsteen had come up with an exciting opportunity. It was a 2-day fundraising event, where the Olympian piloted to donate her training skills and talent. Among them, the Michael Nyuis Foundation, which intends to offer financial support to passionate young riders, celebrated a victorious moment.

The Michael Nyuis Foundation took to its Instagram handle to post a moment to cherish. It’s one of their grant recipient Skylar Wireman’s first World Cup win. The caption says, “Full circle moment. Two years ago Skylar Wireman was an #MNFgrant recipient was participating in our clinic with @jessicaspringsteen 🇺🇸 and last night the 19-year-old clinched her first World Cup win with Tornado in the $250,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Fort Worth presented by Lugano Diamonds.”

The Jessica Springsteen clinic from two years wasn’t aware that it had a World Cup champ in the making. The Foundation’s post caption further accoladed the 19-year-old saying, “We are so proud of you, Skylar!” The Foundation policies say that riders of age 14 – 25 get 12 grants annually. So, in 2021, Wireman was selected as a successful recipient, who went on to be a clinic participant too.
Speaking of the 2023 two-day event, another rider named Sierra shared her personal takeaway, saying, “Wow- what an INCREDIBLE experience! I have learned so much this weekend from the amazing @jessicaspringsteen !!” But while the clinic was underway, the entry from two years back hit her career milestone.

Galloping with spectacles on, Skylar Wireman had her eyes set on the trophy more than any other show jumper. On top of it, her horse ‘Tornado’ had justified its name as he thundered through to clinch the victory in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday. Having bonded just two weeks prior to the event, the human-equine duo proved their prowess like no other.
After the terrific win, the 19-year-old had said, “It doesn’t feel real; it’s incredible. That horse is incredible. Every time I’ve jumped a bigger track, he’s just gotten better and better. Honestly, he has the biggest heart of any horse I’ve ever had.”
