America has catered to the male Equestrian group since the elite section developed the passion for horseracing years ago. In recent times, women have enlisted themselves as better, if not equal, competitors of men. The nation witnessed some phenomenal displays by the 3-year-old Thoroughbreds at Saratoga on Saturday. Belmont Stakes, along with Kentucky Derby and Preakness, aka the Triple Crown, are the historic race tracks sheltering years of history. While the distinctive empire of horseracing is entertaining spectators over time, the equestrians and the trainers are taking big leaps too.
While Saratoga was preparing for a fun filled Saturday, Fans beheld an exceptional execution of colt Arcangelo. People cheered at the top of their voices after a trainer grabbed her second major Grade 1 win. With the stadium overflowing with heartfelt wishes for her, the trainer’s triumph pinnacled.

Jena Antonucci has written a new chapter in her success book on Saturday at Saratoga. Seizing her second Grade 1 win after Belmont Stakes, she is on the lookout for a hat trick. “I guess the more this horse does, the more we’re going to keep writing some history”, Jena commented on Arcangelo’s proficiency. With immense pride and glee, Antonucci showed hopes for Arcangelo and jockey Javier Castelleno for the Breeder’s Cup in November.
The 47-year-old horse trainer has guidance lined-up for the upcoming race at Santa Anita Park. Referring to a recent interview, Jena confirmed providing Arcangelo the time it needs to buckle up for the year-end event. Since her calm demeanor has landed her 2 victories, Jena anticipates 2023 to end on a pleasant note as well.
In a post interview on Sunday, Jena stated, “He came back well and is full of himself today”. She also added that with the Breeder’s Cup on the radar, she doesn’t want to suffocate Arcangelo with tight schedules. Jena and Garden-city based jockey Javiers would like to be patient and let the colt shine in his own sweet way.
Arcangelo has had some rough trips in his time as a thoroughbred. Since several trips it faced earlier were not smooth, the colt was automatically seasoned to feed off well.

In the $1.25 million Grade 1 race at 1 ¼ mile, Arcangelo breezed past six competitors and galloped to victory. With all entries carrying a scale weight of 126 pounds, it was a bright day for jockey Javier Castelleno. With junior Alvarado in the saddle, Scotland gave up early, losing the opportunity to keep traditions alive. Mage, the Kentucky Derby winner, played hop-skip-jump throughout the field while National Treasure finished fifth.
Despite jockey Castelleno commencing late with Arcangelo, he picked up pace and defeated Disarm with a three-length lead. Jena’s 10-day schedule for the Saratoga event worked! Fans await a celebrant and humble Castelleno to cast his magic spell once again in November’s Breeder’s Cup.
