Just recently, Carly Pearce posted a video on her Instagram account. The video showed the country singer trying on a new hat, in preparation for the upcoming Kentucky Derby. The video opened up some speculations among the fans.

According to the tweet by Churchill Downs, Carly Pearce is going to sing the National Anthem at the 149th Kentucky Derby. The country singer and songwriter is a Kentucky native, and she is going to make the biggest event in her hometown even more special.

Pearce recently made history after she won her first Grammy in February. She won it for a duet with Ashley McBride called Never Wanted to Be That Girl. They were the first female pairing to win a Grammy in that category. Now, the organizing committee at Churchill Downs has nabbed a stupendous singer and given her a prestigious honor. Rachel Platten to grace the sister equestrian event of the Kentucky Derby
Rachel Platten, the singer and songwriter, will also be singing the national anthem. She is going to perform the anthem and her viral song Fight Song during the Kentucky Oaks Survivor’s Parade at the Longines Kentucky Oaks on Friday, May 5. Pearce’s performance of The Star-Spangled Banner will happen at 5:00 p.m. EDT and will be broadcasted by NBC during the coverage of the Kentucky Derby.
