Recent research has shown that Gen Z is most prone to mental health challenges. The research highlights a distinct difference in self-reported mental health when compared to earlier generations in the same age bracket. Alarmingly, only 15% of Gen Z individuals aged 18-26 were able to describe their current mental health which is a cause of concern and a need to understand the evolving mental health of this generation.
A few days back, Taylor Swift’s long-term friend and the owner of her favourite luxury brand Stella shared her views on mental health and how equine therapy her her to get better. Now, she has shared another post that resonates with Gen Z and the new partnership with the Deepak Chopra

Stella McCartney and The Chopra Foundation are now working together to start a new foundation for mental health initiative namely “Never Alone,” Together they are promoting mental well-being and healing through equine therapy.
In the video, Deepak says, ‘There is no one who hasn’t had trauma…… anxiety is the anticipation of trauma… blaming yourself for that which needs familiarization and all of the assumption is depression.’ The video also reveals that “over 52% of 17 to 23-year-olds report that their mental health has declined since COVID-19. Equine therapy has proven effective across various age groups, with adolescents experiencing depression and anxiety showing a 60% improvement in symptoms.”
Furthermore, in the video, Stella was saying to her horse, ‘He is coming home with me? However, she has been a passionate rider since childhood

Stella McCartney usually shares her connection with horses which provide her a sense of safety and belonging from her early days riding in Scotland with her family to the present. Horses, she explains,? Being on my horse always offers a moment of pause, calm and reflection ? allowing me to put things into perspective. So often, I just need to be with my horse? Breathing together and feeling so connected.?
Stella’s encounter with Deepak Chopra and his “Never Alone” initiative inspired her to collaborate and share the story of horses’ healing power. Together, they aim to highlight how equine therapy can support mental health, especially for the younger generation facing unique challenges. Stella’s journey has led her to integrate her passion for horses into her work, starting with celebrating them in her Winter 2023 collection and extending to her support for Never Alone and equine therapy centers worldwide. She hopes that the therapeutic potential of horses can provide the same sense of healing and connection to others as it has for her.
