Tamara is a 2-year-old filly and has raced in 2023. This equine was sired by Bolt d’Oro out of the Henny Hughes mare Beholder. She raced for Spendthrift Farm LLC and was bred in Kentucky, United States. She has also won the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante at seven furlongs at Del Mar on the 10th of September 2023. She grabbed the win by a mesmerizing 6 3/4 lengths.
After this win, her trained Mandella had plans for her to compete at the Grade 2 Chandelier Stakes at 1 1/16 miles. This competition is to be held at Santa Anita on the 7th of October. However, the trainer has changed his mind about the decision. According to the DRF News, he said that the BC Juveniles Fillies is run at 1 1/16 miles, so he will wait for this competition to come for Tamar. He took the decision by keeping the filly’s health in concern.
He stated that running at G1 and winning there was already a big effort, and he didn’t want to run her another time so that she could stay completely fresh when the Breeder’s Cup arrives. He has some other plans for himself too and other fillies under his possession too.

With the four-time champion, Tamara, Mandella is all set with his plans. Further, he has faith in Geaux Rocket Ride for the Breeders’ Cup in classic. Rocket Ride won the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on the 22nd of July 2023 and earned a pees-paid berth to the BC Classic.
On the 2nd of September, Ride also secured the second position after Arabian Knight in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at 1 1/4 miles at Del Mar. And the BC Classic is also a run of 1 1/4 miles. Both these Colts will have their next starts at the BC Classic. Geaux Rocket Ride worked a half-mile in 48.60 seconds on the 24th of September at Santa Anita, although the colt was timed by Richard Mandella in a quicker 47.40.
