Arcangelo, a breed with the pedigree of Tapit and Arrogate, two of the most refined breeds, showed immense capabilities from the start. With a track record of six starts, out of which he got four wins and one second, the prodigy has earned over 1.7 million dollars in career earnings. The youngster’s list of achievements includes the title of Multiple Graded Stakes Winner, and he has also bagged the 2023 Belmont Stakes and Travers Stake. He followed in his father’s footsteps by winning the Travers Stake and could have also won a Breeder’s Cup if not for an injury that he sustained before it.
Before the Breeders Cup Classic, the prodigy suffered an injury to his left hind short lateral condylar fracture, which caused him to be out of the competition. After this, Arcangelo went into surgery, and his trainers decided that it would be best to retire him to preserve his health. The foot injury prevented him from reaching his maximum potential.
In a recent video by Lane Ends, the farm owning him currently posted a video of him. In the post, it was explained how he is settling into his new home at Lane Ends. The video highlights his daily life and his getting ready to become a student.

Debates on Arcangelo’s premature retirement
Many members of the community felt that it was a mistake by the trainers to retire him very early. Some reasons for their believing this are that, first, his immense potential allowed him to win four times, and second, he hadn’t yet become a stallion, which was not a very good idea as he is proceeding to become a stud now.
