Nothing can be more upsetting than the cancellation of a wonderful race. The Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes is under the same circumstances and the horse racing enthusiasts are not happy about it. This classic stake is a Grade 1 American weight-for-age thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds and older. This race is a distance of 1 1/2 miles on the turf which takes place every year during the end of September and offers a purse of $500,000.
The event was postponed because of weather conditions and has been fixed in the coming weeks. However, the excitement to see the top Thoroughbreds from the US and Europe is palpable.

With the approval of the New York State Gaming Commission, the New York Association has moved the Grade 1, Joe Hirsch Turf Classic stakes to the 7th of October 2023. The 1 1/2-mile turf race will be available for the original nominees and will be re-drawn this coming Wednesday.
According to the DRF, this stake belonged to the 11-race Saturday Card that was postponed to Sunday, 30th September 2023. The shift was made because of heavy rains that created multiple blunders bringing floods and hazardous situations in the New York City metropolitan area. This weather situation caused Friday’s Aqueduct card to get canceled.
Postponing the stakes on Sunday will have a great impact on the wagering menu for the card. This race scheduled under race 6 was going to be the first option of the pick-6. Now, there is no pick-6 offered on the Sunday’s card. With this, the other multi-race wagers that were designated to start with race 6 inculcating daily double and pick-3 are also canceled.

The other changes that were made because of the stakes’ cancellation
With the cancellation of the Grade 1 race, the other races were also affected by it. The pick-3 and the middle pick-5 that would have started in race 4 and would have been inculcated in the Hirsch are canceled. This also includes the daily double, pick-3, and middle pick-4 that was scheduled to be inculcated in Race 5 and would have also included the Hirsch.

After this, the three different turf races 1,9, and 10 that were scheduled for the card will be run on the main track. The other two stakes that were scheduled under Friday’s card saw the same fate as others because of extreme rainfall and now that has also been rescheduled. The Ashley T. Cole Stakes with a purse of a whopping $125,000 will now be run on Friday and with it, the Noble Damsel Stakes which is a Grade 3 race with a purse of $150,000 will be run on the 8th of October 2023.
