56 Fans Get Selected to Win $1,000,000 at an Iconic Contest of Kentucky Derby Festival

The paramount celebration in the equestrian world, the Kentucky Derby, has been the subject of utmost anticipation for more than a century. One of the most prolific and versatile events in the world, the Derby has something to offer to everyone who attends. The Kentucky Derby Festival is filled with grandeur and the events it hosts are unique.

This time is no different, as the Derby organizers have announced several fun-filled adventures for all. From parades to concerts, the historic race does not hold back.  This includes something for golf lovers as well. How does the chance to win a million dollars sound?

Equestrian event of the year hosts a hole-in-one

The Kentucky Derby had a special treat for all the golfers as the festival’s Hole-in-One Golf Contest was renewed once again. The contest offered all the golfers a chance to win a million dollars. According to a report by WDRB, the semifinal of the contest was held on Sunday, i.e. April 2, at the Seneca Golf Course Driving Range. It began on April 15 continuing up to the finals on April 25.

All the participants took their chance at the Seneca Golf Course. Everyone who has gotten a hole-in-one till now will advance to the finals to be held on April 25. Entering the contest came at a minimal fee of $1 per 100 yards. Each of the players who signed up was given a colored ball so that the judges could differentiate between the players without any mix-up. A board member of the Kentucky Derby Festival also expressed their excitement about the entire event.

Marty Storch, who is on the board, said, “Pretty exciting stuff. For 30 something years, the hole-in-one has been the true kickoff for Derby Festival activities.” On the bygone Tuesday, 8 people got hole-in-ones, thus advancing to the finals. A total of 56 people will be competing in the finals for $1 million. The finalists will only get one golden chance at winning the prize money, and they will have to shoot on the sixth hole, which measures 150 yards.
