Pennsylvania-bred thoroughbreds at Pennsylvania’s Day will be attaining $1 million as the purse money at the races. This has been scheduled for 21st August at Parx Racing outside of Philadelphia. The strength of the participants at this competition is to some another level. The ideal choices of races and horses have been done for the race on Pennsylvania Day.
The races to take place are loved by one and all. First will be the Banjo Picker Sprint Stakes which is run on the dirt at six furlongs. Second is the Marshal Jenney Handicap, which is run at five furlongs on the turf, then ran at a mile and one-sixteenth on the turf is Mrs. Penny Stakes.
According to Lancaster Farming, Storm Cat Stake is for one mile and 70 yards, and following that is Dr. Teresa Garofalo Mem. Stake which is run at six furlongs on the dirt. Then comes the Whistle Pig Stakes and Miss Blue Tye Dye Stakes for two-year-olds who are both PA-sired and PA-bred. These two have the same distance of 5 and a half furlongs. The choices of horses for all the races are remarkable. Nimitz Class will be featured in the Storm Cat Stakes. He is trained by Bruce Kravets and has attained four straight wins in Maryland. Another champion Witty who has recently attained the second position in the Wolf Hill Stakes will be racing in the Marshall Jenny race. Next in line, another champion trained by Butch Reid is Smooth B who will be running in both the Marshal Jenny Stakes and Banjo Picker Stakes.
Too Boss, trained by Todd Pletcher is now back to the field after a long lay-off and another interesting pick is Buy Land and See who is nominated by Guadalupe Preciado. He has won six races on the turf and a single on the dirt, and the best part about Buy Land and See is that he has never lost at Parx.
