Is the Gaylord estate the ultimate equestrian paradise or just another overpriced luxury ranch?

Equestrian lovers hardly mind a splurge in exchange for an exquisite purchase. Well, for all such enthusiasts, a timeless masterpiece is now up for grabs and the details attest- it is an absolute steal deal. Luxury, facility, and heritage at its best, it offers a power-packed combination!

According to Crain’s Detroit Business, the Gaylord estate, a 40-acre horse ranch located between Gaylord and Vanderbilt, is now up for sale with an asking price of $1.9 million, as per Dean Bach, the listing agent. In terms of location, it’s just a three-hour drive north from Detroit along the I-75. But it’s the ranch’s stunning features that truly stand out!

Overlooking the picturesque Vanderbilt Valley, the ranch offers breathtaking views of trees, water, and grazing horses, making it a true ‘wow’ experience. Spanning 3,700 square feet, the interior boasts 4 bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms spread across two levels, offering ultimate comfort. For equestrian enthusiasts, the property features a massive 19,000-square-foot indoor equestrian arena, all within a sprawling 37.89-acre estate.

However, Bach remarks that the real differentiator for this property are the 20 horse stalls, six of which are equipped with heating facilities. The arena also includes what is defined as a ‘functional’ yet modern bunkhouse, with a capacity of 4 beds, a kitchen, a dining area, a living room, and a bar. Plus, equestrian lovers won’t miss a moment thanks to the gigantic viewing windows designed to give an unobstructed equestrian experience into the arena.

Need more features to impress you? The property interiors are crafted to replicate a log-style cabin, with “vaulted ceilings.” And it comes with a operational garage with identical wood work. Notably the property has now been listed on the market after a year with a local broker. But, Bach believes with the exquisite value that this property offers, “You need to get it out there to the world.”

Why is this equestrian property a steal deal?

This Saturday afternoon, October 19, there’s a broker open house for the Gaylord estate, offering a full experience with food, music, drinks, and property tours. Attendees will get a chance to explore the 40-acre horse ranch, nestled between Gaylord and Vanderbilt. Additionally, the property owners are offering an incentive: if the estate sells before January 1st, 2025, they will donate $20,000 to Camp Casey, a non-profit organization that provides free horseback riding programs for children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. It’s a meaningful gesture tied to a potential sale.

Bach also states that this property can suit multiple visions. It can be an equestrian lover’s paradise as well as a great source of generating revenue for potential investors. It can be used for short-term rental purposes as well as for weddings, given that a similar yet smaller property around chargers approximately $15,000 for the same. Per Bach, “The property is nothing short of amazing.” He adds, “You pull into a gated property and it’s luxury at its best.”

Well, not long ago, Gaylord Ranch’s neighbor farm, the Vanderbilt family heritage, the Sandy Point Stable appeared on the auction block. 6.15-acre, it’s asking prize was around $3.5 million, for the stable is seeded in the legacy of the Vanderbilt family. Although the Sandy Point Heritage Foundation stood up to protect and preserve the site, there can be so many reasons that horse ranch sales are shooting up.
