Improvements and clarifications are necessary in every area for the betterment of the field. The equestrian community has done the same. They have revised the licensing standards of the USEF Lite competitions. Basically, USEF Lite is for the promotion and growth of the competition environment under the USEF Framework. It will assist the organizers of small, new, or formerly unlicensed competitions across the national breeds and disciplines with an entry point to the licensed competition environment. It makes these competitions go from unlicensed to regular competitions.

Recently, the US Equestrian and some of the other affiliated organizations have announced some refinements to the licensing requirements for USEF Lite competitions. This collaboration of multiple authorities to clarify the licensing requirements is one of the progressive things going on.
