During a 5-furlong handicap race at the Curragh, Cian MacRedmond, a promising apprentice, was poised aboard Dream Today. However, as the tension mounted within the starting stalls, chaos suddenly erupted. Dream Today, eager to begin the sprint, impulsively charged the starting gates before the race had officially commenced.

In the blink of an eye, what seemed like a routine race start took a perilous turn. Cian MacRedmond was abruptly thrown forward out of the saddle, finding himself ensnared between the powerful Dream Today and the unyielding confines of the starting stalls.

“He is so lucky the horse stayed where he did,? said Walsh. ?Oh, give the horse a pat. What a Christian of a horse! Christian leg is caught up on the sides of the stalls, which could have been so nasty. He further added, ?We go on about jockeys looking after horses. That is a horse looking after a jockey.“It was a moment that could have resulted in a catastrophic injury for the young jockey. But what happened was beyond what anyone expected and showed how strong the bond between a horse and its rider can be.
