The Breeder’s Cup is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after races for enthusiasts in the equestrian community. The annually held event dates back decades, welcoming the best of the participants in the industry. The 2023 season will consist of $31 million in purses and awards across 14 races. With massive prizes at stake, equines are set to make their way toward the  6 1/2-furlong, downhill course. The Irish trainer, A P O’Brien, has had quite a presence in the horse racing industry. Starting in 1996, O’Brien has won a massive number of notable stakes and trained for even more. However, with the Breeders’ Cup drawing to a close, the trainer has stood bold in his decision to stir his 2-year-old filly towards a different direction.

On the 25th of October, a fansite of O’Brien reported that the trainer’s Bay Filly Opera Singer will be missing next week’s Breeder’s Cup. “Aidan said she has had a long season & going to America might be a bridge too far,” the user wrote. The 2-year-old, who debuted in July this year, has 3 wins to her 4 starts; with the latest one being a G I race at the 2023 Prix, Marcel Boussac.

Opera Singer, with her remarkable performance, was a speculated favorite in the upcoming races. But with her aside, O’Brien’s other filly, Content, is expected to bring home favorable results in Fillies Juvenile Turf alongside his coveted team.

Another notable name visible on the list would be Warm Heart. The 3-year-old filly has five wins to its name; 5 which constitute Grade 1 stakes.
