In a post on Instagram, Official FEI and CBH – Confederação Brasileira de Hipismo, shared an exhilarating update with equestrian fans around the world. Posting a picture of a famed Brazilian equestrian clearing a hurdle, the caption of the post read, “Olá Brazil! 👋 With the @longinesleagueofnations inaugural season kicking off in February, what better time to introduce the 10 nations qualified for the chance to be the first to hoist the new trophy at the Final in Barcelona! 🏆 So, let’s begin with Brazil! 🇧🇷.” This exciting news thrills fans, as Brazil has a rich history of show jumping with notable equestrian achievements. The team even finished fourth at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final in Barcelona, earning a spot at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

The popularity of the country in the sport is also attributed to the influence of renowned Brazilian jumping athletes like Rodrigo Pessoa and the 2023 Pan American Games winner, Stephan Barcha. Brazil’s contribution and participation in the series is a significant opportunity for its equestrian community to nurture and develop the next generation of riders. This incredible update by the FEI comes after the federation ranked the top 10 teams based on their performance in previous competitions.

The top 10 countries gearing up for the Longines League of Nations Series

Back in October 2023, the FEI ranked the top 10 global teams invited to compete in the Longines League of Nations Series. Ireland had the top spot on the list, which was followed by the powerhouses of the sport, which included the USA, France, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, and Brazil. The teams were selected based on points earned based on the performance of their top six athletes from the nations, and the criteria was that at least one of them should be an athlete under 25 years of age in the Longines Ranking.
