It wouldn’t be a wrong stance for one to say equestrian sport was a greater part of Jennifer Gates’ life despite her many roles. Right from fetching a lucrative interest to meeting the love of her life, the 27-year-old has gained much from her initial passion. Shining brighter amongst all, however, is the bond she shares with her husband and Olympic equestrian Nayel Nassar and their little one who came along.

Earlier last year, the equestrian couple welcomed their daughter, Leila to the world. Through medicine and sports, the duo ensured to shower all the love and knowledge on the little one. However, they weren’t the only ones on the path. Apart from Jenn’s claim that her friends love Leila almost as much as her, Melinda has more to add to the bearing.

Melinda French Gates on embracing the role of grandma

The equestrian, Jennifer Gates’ mother, Melinda, recently took to Instagram to share a note on her role as a ‘nonna’. Come Feb-end, the little one will be gearing up to celebrate her 1-year milestone. With not many days left to mark on the calendar, the philanthropist reminisced not only her days so far as a grandmother but also the example her parents set for her. “Becoming “Nonna” has made me reflect on the wonderful example my own parents set for how to be an engaged and loving grandparent,” Melinda wrote as her parents and Jennifer Gates as a baby framed the carousel.

Melinda further wished to be as great a grandparent as her parents were to her kids. “So thankful for them both!” she added to conclude. While she wishes to meet her parents’ status in parenting her grandchild, Melinda has walked her initial path well as a parent.

Incorporating values of society, concern, and of course love in her children, Melinda has witnessed her three kids take their paths. Juggling careers for Jenn, being outspoken for Phoebe, and a double major for Rory, Melinda, alongside Bill Gates has led well and the equestrian agrees.

The equestrian’s thankful note

Jennifer Gates has often taken to her Instagram profile to pen a gratitude note for her mother and the inspirational woman she is. “To the woman who lifts me and so many others up,” she wrote on International Women’s Day. And for birthday she added, “to the best mom (and grandma!) who seems to grow more joyful and youthful each year.” In the steps of her parents or not, Melinda has often led by example. Right from cherishing every step of her kids to every smile of her granddaughter, the philanthropist has carried love all along.
