In her three-year-old equine career, Taiba has clinched victory in Pennsylvania Derby (G1), Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Malibu Stakes (G1). In 2022, Taiba was the top 3-year-old in North America, coming in second place to Epicentre in the voting for the Eclipse Awards’ Champion 3-Year-Old Male. The gifted chestnut, who cost $1.7 million to buy at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale as a 2-year-old, broke his maiden by 7 12 lengths at Santa Anita. He completed the race in 1:09 4/5 over six furlongs, earning TDN Rising Star honours. Furthermore, he also achieved a dazzling Beyer Speed Figure of 103, making it one of the fastest maiden victories this century.

Taiba accomplished another feat five weeks later when he came back to win the Santa Anita Derby (G1). Interestingly, he clinched victory in just his second start and first time around a two-turn track. He received a 102 Beyer rating and a spot in the Kentucky Derby (G1).
