Every year, from all parts of the world, the famous auction horse house attracts several equestrian enthusiasts. When some of the best-bred horses are put on display, the potential buyers invest without a care about prices. One of the oldest auction companies in North America, Fasig-Tipton, conducts a Yearling sale in Kentucky. Operating year-round, the Kentucky office takes pride in its sales. Since it drives the highest average price out of all breeding stock sales, it tops the list. However, the October sale of Kentucky also demands attention for its successful conclusion.
On Tuesday, October 24, the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale held its second session. The retired thoroughbred and active sire Into Mischief smiled in pride as his sired pair of colts took the win.

At the Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Ky, in a room full of suspense, the buyers gave tough fights to each other. Usually, an auction event boasts buyers placing competitive bids to grab the best horse for themselves. Another factor behind choosing a particular equine is the parent horse’s winning streak or equine history. It’s no surprise that Jesse Longoria and Brunsen placed their hands on the best pair.
Hip 714, the offspring of the late Bernardini, got sold at a whopping $500,000 each. Bernardini, the 2006 Travers Stakes and Preakness stakes passed away in 2021, leaving the equestrian world in mourning. However, Hip 714, as a worthy heir, looks forward to a successful equine career. On the other hand, Hip 788, sired by Into Mischief, grabbed the attention of Donato Lanni and Madaket Stables. They bought him at $500,000 as well.
After a pleasant day in Kentucky, President Boyd Browning said, “It was another solid session today, a continuation of the same trends that we’ve seen throughout the yearling sales season. It’s nice to have a $500,000 late in the session and there’s still a lot of people here in attendance.” Besides these two starlets, some other colts need special mention as well.
