Equestrianism offers the thrill that any other sport wouldn’t dare to serve. With continuous maturing within, the equestrian realm has come a long way since its inception. Nowadays, to notch up the game before the Paris Olympic days, the events incorporate unique elements to engage the public. Having said so, the athletes are also looking forward to the 2024 Longines Global Champions Tour. The reason? It’s the most sought-after show-jumping series for multiple reasons.
The Global Champions Tour, taking place throughout the year across 15 competition rounds, handpicks only 30 riders to go head-on. At the end of the year, the riders fight to overrule each other in the Super Grand Prix, where virtuoso Julien Epaillard won €1.26m in Prague (2023). It’s just a matter of 3 months until the Tour commences again. But the preview is more impressive this time, hinting at an unusual run for attention.

Resorting to their Instagram handle, the Longines Global Champions Tour has posted a clip. Though the event is unknown, it may be a Grand Prix from 2023 or a new addition in 2024. Captioning the post as “When horsepower meets horsepower” the people behind the catchy caption did a smart wordplay. The video features a show-jumping athlete showing off their skills, steering the equine to jump over a gorgeous Lamborghini. Horsepower, a popular term related to cars, implies how quickly the force is produced from its engine. Interestingly, horsepower in both cases touches on the running capacity. It’s more like whether the horse bests the car or the other way around.
