Equestrian Frankie Dettori is widely known for dominating the horse racing world. Interestingly, the Britain-based Italian jockey kickstarted his career as a stable lad. Fast forward to now, having ridden 287 Group 1 race winners, the 52-year-old had started venturing out on different career journeys. In line with that, a recent show graced his arrival.
“I’m a Celeb”, also known as “I’m a Celebrity…..Get Me Out Of Here!” welcomed celebrities from all avenues to fight for the “King of the Jungle” title. However, the game show doesn’t invite them to live in paradise or luxury bungalows. Instead, it’s a game of survival with celebs spending nights in camps in the middle of the jungle. In here, though, Dettori arrived as a wildcard, his recent performance stupefied camp mates.

According to Frankie Dettori’s X post, he had resorted to his social handle to celebrate his win with his fans. Captioned, “After success in the Epsom Oaks earlier this year – Frankie picked up another win last night on board @nicpickard in the Holly Oaks.” Tony Bellew and Dettori entered the show late but made up real quick. As of now, the sporty duo is going well.

But special mention to Holly Oaks actor Nick Pickard, who paired up with the jockey to survive a round. Having said so, the round involved the milk bottle-themed Dingo Dollar challenge, which saw the duo surpassing competition. Besides, Dettori has also contributed to tidying up the camp oftentimes.
On another note, the ITV reality show’s jungle can pose threats to the contestants sometimes. Having said that, Grace Dent, the restaurant critic, had to leave the show early due to degrading health. In an interview she said, “I’ve had enough. I’ve completely had enough. I just want to go home. I haven’t got a lot left in me at the moment. I’m just keeping on a face for everybody.”
Though the legendary jockey announced his retirement, he still wishes to make his final mark as before his season-end.
Dettori’s 2024 plans

Fire is still left inside him and he may have announced his retirement early in 2023, but Dettori’s 2024 US plans lay ahead. Said, “I’ve still got the fire inside me that I want to do it a little bit more.” Though his Breeders Cup wins were a perfect ending to the season, he wishes to stay in the US circuit next year.
He further added,“Ten months ago, I announced my retirement, I thought that would give me plenty of time to say my farewells and then I headed to California [in December 2022].” He also wishes to explore the Dubai and the Saudi circuit. “I want to travel, if I go to Kentucky, Florida, Saratoga, Del Mar, that’s what I’ll do and that’s what excites me, going to uncharted waters that I haven’t done before. It could be madness, it could go completely wrong, but I’m determined to try it and we’ll see what happens.”

Now, as a semi-retired jockey, he has big plans ahead.
