He was guided by none other than Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith himself. But, fate had other ideas, as the thick fog blanketed the track heavily. Which made an obscuring any attempts to hamper the official time and distance for the performer. Trainer Richard Mandella declared that the colt had covered six furlongs, the admiration for the performance relied on the Smith’s words.
Even after the fog-induced challenges, the contenders have portrayed their determining performance incredibly. Which also makes their leap much higher for the upcoming Breeders’ Cup Classic. The Santa Anita Park Workout Tab for Monday has witnessed the note of “dense fog from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.” It testament to the unpredictable nature of training in the world of horse racing.

Breeders’ Cup prospects brave nature’s calls
Not to be overshadowed, another hopeful for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint emerged from the mist. Speed Boat Beach, under the guidance of renowned trainer Bob Baffert, dashed through three furlongs in a swift 36.40 seconds. This workout marked a significant milestone for Speed Boat Beach, as it was his first appearance on the track since his valiant second-place finish in the GII Santa Anita Sprint Championship.
