The US has a rich heritage of equestrian sports. Offering both thrill and entertainment since the 1900 Olympics, the sport has come a long way. The equestrian community can either come for the competitive sport or the recreational elements. Among several high-end Thoroughbred horse-racing stables, Godolphin stands out as the most popular. Widely known for grooming talented equines, the organization has gained quite a name. One such Godolphin-bred horse outshined a thoroughbred horse race held on October 1.

Vosburgh stakes, usually held at the end of September or early October, witnessed an equine in all his glory. Despite jockey Alvarado facing setbacks, his favorite horse shined anyway. His dazzling finish in the $250,000 Vosburgh stakes (G2) left the elite equestrian-verse in awe.

Cody’s Wish, a multiple grade 1 winner, just added another milestone achievement to his resume. The 5-year-old son of Curling covered up for the saddening third-place finish in the Whitney Stakes in August. Moreover, he returned with his strongest suit sprinting and proving all the anticipators right.

Not only that, the equine has made a mark, winning subsequently in the World Championships’ two-turn eight-furlong event. Asserting his position as the most sought-after, Cody’s ultimate goal of the year is Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile. The nail-biting event is scheduled to take place on November 4, at Santa Anita Park. Interestingly, his “win and you’re In” ticket, achieved in June’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Metropolitan Handicap, paved the way to this victory.

His Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott praised the Curlin bay for the magnificence of the track, even though the other equines gave occasional hard blows. After he began unhurried, clocking a 1:21:83 on the final sixteenth, affirmed his supremacy. Paulick Report quoted Mott as saying, “He was off slow, but he was able to make it up. Ideally, there’s more pace and they kind of come back to him, but everybody kept running today. I think obviously a horse like him when they go :44 and change, he’s going to close better and finish better if the others are coming back to him, but they kept running.”  Besides this win, the talented equine has more to him.

The impressive Cody’s Wish

Cody’s Wish not only won the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and Met Mile, but he also placed high on the Forego (G1) at the Spa last year. The fan-favorite bears the name of Cody Dorman, a teenager with an uncommon genetic condition Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. Dorman cannot walk or speak without the use of a tablet. The heart-wrenching story drew more attention to the talented equine. As Cody’s Wish has traveled the country since last March, garnering crowds at six different racetracks and winning now at five of them, the tale of the two Codys perfectly harmonized.
