The 2-year-old filly involved, named Fly From The Fire, miraculously escaped unscathed. With a remarkable racing history under the guidance of Mike Casselman, she was initially scheduled to participate in a race on the evening of October 21. However, in a precautionary move, track management opted to withdraw her from the event. In response to this heartbreaking incident, Los Alamitos Race Course extended its deepest condolences to Mr. Luevano’s family and friends, as conveyed by spokesperson Orlando Gutierrez.

Hailing from Luis Moya in Zacatecas, Mexico, Alfredo Luevano’s illustrious career in horse racing spanned over a decade, leaving an indelible mark on the equestrian world. Alfredo Luevano’s legacy extends beyond the racetrack. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Marisela Martinez, their cherished children – Lisbet, Alfredo Jr., Alex, Aldo, and Camila, as well as six adoring grandchildren. His father, Augustine, also mourns the loss of his son.
