Equestrian teams gear up to dominate

The Longines Global Championship Tour Playoffs reached Prague’s 02 Arena on the 16th of November for a thrilling weekend. After 2 days of knock-out stages and the Super Grand Prix out of the way, it is the Super Cup that the spectators remain to eye. The ?4.5 million event set out with a total of 16 teams on the list to decide 6 for the finals day. As the action takes place tonight, the LGCT Instagram page took a moment to up the excitement. “We started with 16 teams, we?re now left with just 6. Who will be crowned our 2023 GCL Super Cup Champion tonight?” The post read as qualified teams framed the images.

On the 17th of November, eight teams battled each other to find a space in the finals. Following a fierce battle, an interesting result awaited the equestrian enthusiasts. Season favourites Shanghai Swans and Stockholm Hearts faced an unforeseen elimination making way to six final teams. While Madrid in Motion took the first spot, Paris Panthers set out to own the second spot. Hopefully, with a continued streak, the team will look for the crown.

A look at Pink Panthers’ momentum
Starting with the team’s past year results, the Pink Panthers placed 5th in the overall GCL Championship. As for a more recent ranking, the team finished with a silver at the 2023 GCL overall standings in the Riyadh finals. 6th in Round 1 – 1.55M and 4th in Round 2 1.60M boosted the team’s position following excellent performances in Rome, London, and the rest throughout the year.

Following the victory in Riyadh, Gregory Wathelet, Harrie Smolders, and Ben Maher aced the semi-finals with a total of 219.35.?On the finals day, the team is analyzed to work with only 3 horses to earn a top spot. Apart from the mentioned, Ioli Mytilineou, Jur Vrieling, and young talent Nataline Dean will work to contribute to the team’s success. With good numbers on board, the enthusiasts await a satisfactory result on the final night.
