Equestrian parks are places to ride horses and connect with nature. They are also a place to teach horse riding and promote equestrian sport. Besides these, they have many community benefits like economic – boosting local businesses, social – people meeting at outdoor places, and environmental – caring for nature along with riding. Along similar lines, the South Carolinian equestrian facility decided to construct a staunch arena to encourage recreational activities.

Florence County in South Carolina is going to get an equestrian park. It happens to come to the Lynches River County Park. The 1.3 million project construction work is set to start on the coming 7th of August. This news has brought smiles to the equestrian community of the county as the project has everything that they dream of.

The director of Florence County Parks and Recreation said that the importance of these parks was realized during the pandemic when they served the community. They are building the facility on an already successful park. The new equestrian park will have four miles of equestrian trails, an equestrian arena, scenic trails, and a section for training horses and obstacle courses.

The director said that “the existing campgrounds will be transformed into one to specifically accommodate equestrian guest for overnight stay.”A new campground will be constructed with corrals at each site for horses. In addition, it will have space for traditional RV visitors. The other areas will be connected to water and electricity to fulfill the needs of RV visitors. The park will feature over 20 pull-through sites with all having water and electric hookups, a bathroom, a shower facility, and a community gathering area.

The baseball ground will be transformed into an equestrian show arena where training and shows can take place. The equestrian trail will be expanded later due to the demand for long trails. For it, many conservative groups in the county joined hands and purchased Independence Farms and gave it to the county for the park.

Equestrian parks boost the county and state

The equestrian park will boost the local business in Florence County and will generate employment opportunities. The equestrian park is already a popular destination, attracting 160,000 visitors each year. Currently, it is staffed by 15-18 employees, many of whom are seasonal. When the new park opens, the county will need to hire more employees to meet the increased demand.
