The fifth edition of the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix has concluded with equestrian Jessica Springsteen as one of the celebrated contestants. Since its initiation in Doha this year in March, the biggest show-jumping event has been the talk of the town. In pursuit of individual glory, Springsteen stepped foot along with 15 other contenders. Though her finale wasn’t path-breaking, her finesse stood out.
Sixteen stops throughout the year and 16 finalists to have competed. As thrilling as it sounds, the 31-year-old musician daughter made some winning strides aboard Don Juan van de Donkhoeve. Having started his stallion career at the Stone Hill Farm, the equine has collected top results in the past 5 years. Moreover, now, he got a pat from his beloved human after a successful race.

Longines Global Champions Tour resorted to its Instagram handle to post, “@jessicaspringsteen and Don Juan van de Donkhoeve go clear in R1 of the LGCT Super Grand Prix in Prague.” In Run 1, she scored 73.35 and finished fourth. Further on, the Run 2 saw her expertise on display, but she concluded with an eighth finish.

The video featured Springsteen gracefully sitting on Don’s back, entering the back stage gates with a broad smile. Another beautiful thing needs special mention. The way the 2021 Tokyo silver medalist caressed Don, it looked like a mother taking pride in her child’s accomplishment.
While the iconic show jumping circuit was handing out golden tickets, Jessica Springsteen waited eagerly. Finally, she earned the high anticipated gold in the August event. The human-equine duo clocked a remarkable 43.90 to defeat contenders like the great Dutch rider Harrie Smolders. Shedding light on the performance, she had said, “I’m so happy with Don today. I took some risks, but it paid off.”
Interestingly, the event which brought her to this final round was her first 5* Grand Prix win with Don. Talking more about the pair’s stellar shows, they have earned a fifth finish in $500,000 Rolex Grand Prix CSI5* at the Winter Equestrian Festival. Having said that, Bruce Springsteen’s star daughter’s career was nothing short of exciting.
