It is not the happiest situation when an exciting race in the equestrian realm gets on the verge of being compromised because of natural circumstances. A very similar case has occurred for the Barney Curley Charity Cup meeting. The enthusiasts were eagerly waiting for this race to witness the outstanding performances and the rivalry between Frankie Dettori and Willie Mullins.
However, a storm is acting as a threat to the race and the entire horse racing community is hoping that it doesn’t affect the race. This race will take place in Bellewstown, which is one of the best one mile and one furlong left-handed course, and it features both flat and hurdle racing. Since this is one of the best courses, the excitement to witness the races here is extraordinary.

Just before 8 a.m., the track had reported that 2mm of rain had fallen in one night. And the forecast says, it will be 15-20mm and the yellow wind status in the place is being examined constantly. Bellewstown is running on the hope that Storm Agnes doesn’t cause any harm in its Barney Curley Charity Cup meeting. Its manager Kevin Coleman stated that they are keeping their fingers crossed with the weather. The Racing Post also shared the ongoing situation on their Twitter account, they captioned it as, “Bellewstown is holding out hope that Storm Agnes doesn’t derail its Barney Curley Charity Cup meeting on Wednesday, with Frankie Dettori and Willie Mullins set to renew their rivalry in the second edition of the event.”
This event is more awaited because of the ongoing rivalry between the staunch riders, Frankie Dettori and Willie Mullins. Last year, Dettori secured the victory to his name in this event and is planning on holding his ground and defending it against Mullins.

Last year’s Curley winner Dettori thinks of this event to be one of the most integral mentors of his career. With this, he will be maintaining his captaincy role like he did last year. Now both of them, Dettori and Willie Mullins, are all geared up to make their return to Bellewstown on the 27th of September for the Charity Cup. This is the second time this race is going to take place and the racecourse, with this event, has raised €200,000 for Direct Aid for Africa.
Both the jockeys and trainers have amassed a team of seven ideal jockeys who will give each other just the right competition. Scores will be allotted to the horses attaining the first six positions on a scale of twenty, ten, five, three, two, and one. The team that attains the largest total in the two races will secure the title to his name.
