The race to the 2024 Paris Olympics grows closer with each passing day. The athletes have fought year-long to secure a place on the world’s biggest stage. While some have already earned their position, the Pan-American Games have stepped up to provide a vital push for those waiting for a chance. The event, which commenced on the 20th is scheduled to feature 31 disciplines across 15 days; and amongst all, proudly stands the sport of equestrian.

Pan American Games is the biggest stage for sports enthusiasts in the region presently. The Games will be a strong ground to help athletes find their way into the Olympics. However, with the nearing end of the event, persisting disciplines are on the brink of lifting their cup. Today, taking the ground was the Team Eventing finals; whose first update was revealed by an interesting spectator.

Team Eventing takes final ground

The equestrian sport is classified into 3 categories heading into the Pan American Games; Dressage, Eventing, and Jumping. After completing two contests on the 27th and 28th each, the Team Eventing entered for a final Showdown on the 29th in Quillota, Chile. The team at the Olympics which was present at the venue took a moment to provide an update on its presence. “Today we started the day at sunny Quillota watching the team eventing finals,” the story read as an athlete gracefully jumped over a long fence.

Marina Azevedo, Brazil’s first female course designer was the one to design the Sunday’s course for the Eventing. 4 equestrians from each team took to the carefully designed ground to go head-on against the competitors. And while Canada and Brazil earned their rewards, team US slipped by a margin though not for disappointing results.

Equestrian teams earn Olympic quota

On the 29th, the Canadian eventing team worked their efforts well to earn 3rd ever eventing gold in the 72-year history of the Games. Lindsay Traisnel, Karl Slezak, Michael Winter, and Colleen Loach who framed the roster not only delivered marvelous performances but also earned the first of the Olympic quota. The second one was bagged by team Brazil who landed a bronze with excellent efforts from Marcio Carvalho Jorge.

As the two celebrated, team USA had a few hiccups that pushed them down to the second spot and to settle for silver. However, leader Caroline Pamukcu who added just 4 faults to her score bagged an individual gold. ?It?s hard in the moment to look back and immediately start analyzing, but we all need to think about it for a couple of days, and with that will come more clarity on what we can do moving forward to not be in this position again,? U.S. Chef d?Equipe Bobby Costello said according to Chronicles of horse. “It?s good that we are all disappointed with silver because it means we want to be better,” he further added. Currently, 16 teams have been qualified for eventing including USA and the two from today.
