Israel-Hamas war is a deeply emotional and politically charged issue.  The situation remains complex and evolving and the dynamics between Israel, Hamas and the Palestinian people continue to be significant geopolitical and humanitarian concerns in the region.  As a result, several prominent figures took a stand. He took to his social media to speak about the bloodshed and the ongoing media bias on both sides of the conflict.

Nassar shared a post on his Instagram story, captioned, “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” He captioned this Mahatma Gandhi quote to raise his concerns over the politicians and media’s role in exacerbating the ongoing conflict. The original post by Omar Baddar, which he shared with the said caption, read, “The dominant political establishment and media narrative on the killing of Israeli civilians, ‘No matter what Israel did, nothing justifies Hamas’s killing of civilians!’ Same people: Given what Hamas did, you can’t blame Israel for its mass bombing of Palestinian civilians!”

The post pointed at the hypocrisy of the media which is an apt observation, media bias does not help in bringing peace to the region in any shape of form and only worsens it. Nassar’s caption advocates for forgiveness, empathy, and use of peaceful ways to resolve conflicts instead of flaring the flames. It highlights the importance of stopping the cycle of vengeance for a more peaceful and fair society, something we must all strive for.
