Equinox and Liberty Island are the most popular horses in the equestrian community. The pair have achieved tremendous results over the past year, with several Grade One victories in Japan only. As the Japan Cup showdown came close, the two special horses were served special dinners.
The Japan Cup will kickstart in full flow on Sunday. With top horses from across the globe in contention, it’s going to be a thrilling contest. Equinox and Liberty Island are pitted to be favorites in the 2400m race tomorrow and were recently served with a special ‘dinner date‘.
Equinox and Liberty Island share a dinner date

Equinox is four years old and is the son of legendary equine Kitasan Black, 2016 Japan Cup winner. While Equinox is returning from a Group 1 victory at the Tenmp Sho Autumn (2000m), Liberty Island has been on a rest the past few weeks. The 4-year-old last raced on October 15 and returned victorious at Shuka Sho.

With only a few hours left before the big race, Equinox, and Liberty Island were served with a special Japanese dinner. ?DINNER DATE. Though the dinner was kept in front of dummy horses only, Equinox and Liberty Island would surely have enjoyed that meal.
Equinox and Liberty Island are tipped to be favorites in the 43rd running of the Japan Cup (2400m). Equinox is currently on a five-race Grade 1 winning streak while Liberty Island is just coming from Triple Tiara triumph. Japan Cup will have a total of 17 contenders, and it is gonna be one hell of a race on Sunday.

Japan Cup: The big showdown
The 43rd Japan Cup will take place at the Tokyo Racecourse on Sunday. A total of 17 contenders will be aiming to get better of the show-stopper Equinox. In addition to Equinox and Liberty Island, the other notable names include 3x Grade 1 winner Titleholder, Stars on Earth, Do Deuce, and Deep Bond.

While all the horses are fully capable of coming out triumphant, Equinox and Liberty Island are pitted to be favorites, because of their stature and recent form. Equinox has won all of his previous 5 Grade One races. On the other hand, Liberty Island recently won Triple Tiara and Group One Shuka Sho. With other horses equally itching to win the Japan Cup, it’s going to be a blockbuster Sunday for equestrian fans.
