After Witnessing Animal Neglect, Equestrian Community Extends Helping Hand to Charity

In a remarkable act of compassion Save A Horse, Australia has rescued six horses from the brink of slaughter.?In a recent heartfelt Facebook post, the organization shared the inspiring story of the rescue, with an additional private surrender horse in desperate need of assistance joining their ranks. These horses, including thoroughbreds, a standardbred, and a stock horse, were saved from dire circumstances at Laidley sales, where they were purchased for ‘dogger money.’ Some of these horses are emaciated, while one has a severe leg injury, all in desperate need of care and rehabilitation.

While Queensland Racing has stepped in to support the charity in caring for off-track thoroughbreds, Save A Horse Australia faces significant financial challenges. They urgently need to raise $6,000 to cover the costs of rescuing and rehabilitating these six horses, along with ongoing expenses like staff wages and property rent.

They provide a safe and loving home for horses in need, and they work tirelessly to find them suitable forever homes. on 7th Oct 2023, Save A Horse Australia made a significant impact by rescuing neglected, abused, and surrendered horses, including a 16-year-old thoroughbred mare, a 9-year-old thoroughbred gelding, an 8-year-old standardbred gelding, a 17-year-old thoroughbred mare, and an 18-year-old thoroughbred.? Remarkably, even though these horses were initially unfamiliar to many, the post touched hearts, leading to an outpouring of compassion and support from the community.
