Anna Marek is a Florida-based equestrian dressage trainer who has a history of Grand Prix victories, including success with Dee Clair at prestigious events. Her contributions helped the U.S. Dressage Team secure gold in 2020, and in 2023, she earned silver with Duvel and won with Fire Fly. Recently, the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games dressage competition, taking place from October 22 to 25 at the Escuela de Equitacion Regimiento Granaderos in Santiago, Chile, features individual and team dressage events, along with the Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle.

The competition is a prestigious part of the Pan American Games and serves as a crucial qualifier for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where the top riders and teams will secure their spots. Notably, Julio Mendoza recently clinched an individual gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games.

Recently, Anna Marek shared a story on Instagram and captioned it as, “Julio Mendoza Wins Individual Gold at the 2023 Pan American Games” and shared his pic as well. On 26 Oct, Julio Mendoza and his horse Jewel?s Goldstrike won gold in the 2023 Pan American Games equestrian dressage, earning a score of 87.230 in the mixed freestyle final.

According to Euro Dressage, “I can?t believe it – history for Ecuador and I got my spot for the Olympics today so it?s really exciting,’ said Julio Mendoza Loor. This victory also secured Mendoza?s spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics. My plan was to go mistake-free and I did it!?, he said.? “After that I had to hold in my tears because I just wanted to cry,” said Julio.?

Brazil’s Joao Victor Marcari claimed the silver with 86.160 points, and the bronze went to the United States Anna Marek with 81.305 points. However, Anna is also a talented dressage trainer, which she even proved a few days back.

Anna Marek’s impressive role

On 24 October at the 2023 Pan American Games, the U.S. Dressage Team clinched the gold medal. The U.S. team included Christian Simonson, Anna Marek, Codi Harrison, and Sarah Tubman, who delivered exceptional performances, earning them their ninth Pan American dressage team title.

The standout performances included the Julio Mendoza Loor and Jewel’s Goldstrike, who achieved the highest score of the day with an impressive 78.61%. Anna Marek, a key member of the U.S. team also contributed significantly with her horse, Fire Fly, earning a strong score of 73.48% during the Grand Prix Special. ?This is a massive personal?best for me. I came into this championship not expecting a whole lot in terms of an individual medal. I was just explaining that after that first Grand Prix ride, that?s the hardest ride to do,? explained Marek. ?You spend so much time at training camp and there?s so much anticipation, and not wanting to let the team down. Anna Marek’s dedication and outstanding performance added to the team’s success, exemplifying the spirit of the U.S. Dressage Team.
