Team contests hold an excitement like no other. No matter the sport, an aura unprecedented is often bound to fetch its place. And bringing the atmosphere to the equestrian community soon is the FEI-backed Longines League of Nations. Carefully curated and consulted, the series has been scheduled to host a unified format across five venues. With the nearing dates, the clocks have only been set in motion.
Recently, the community witnessed Major League Show Jumping leading the excitement. However, with its final showdown came the League of Nations’ announcement. The organization over the week revealed its schedule and team to make up the event. Following the update, the team took to social media to create awareness and hype those already in the know.
Equestrian community to saddle up

Starting February 8th, the best of the 10 equestrian teams from across the world will battle it out at the pinnacle of the team-based international Jumping series. Announcing the first edition, the League of Nations captioned it as a ‘a series like no other.’ It also added, “Get ready for the ultimate in team jumping, where the world’s best and brightest jumping stars go head-to-head in a thrilling showdown for team glory!” sharing a thrilling clip to introduce the event.

The series has been set in motion with the aim of continuation of the sport among younger generations. FEI President Ingmar De Vos in the press release stated that the event will look to infuse team spirit, horsemanship, and excellence. Now with the schedule out and excitement filling up, the organization begins to tread towards its aim.

Teams gear up with the rest
The event will encompass 5 venues from February to October 2023. While Abu Dhabi, Ocala, St. Gallen, and Rotterdam prepare to host qualifier rounds, Barcelona will hold the ultimate thrill from Oct 3-6. Ten teams, with the culminated points of 6 of the nation’s finest equestrian icons have been added to the registry. Currently, Ireland leads with 13,834 points, while the USA follows with 13,532 points. France, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Sweden, Brazil, and Belgium are among the next contenders.

“Our goal is obviously to win as much as possible – it always is! – with the best horse-rider combinations presented in a good way to always put the horse first. This series is exciting and unique and we also hope the media will pick this up,” Swedish Chef d’Equipe Henrik Ankarcrona told FEI. Of the 10, only 8 will be heading to Barcelona to get their hands on the trophy in October.
